Originally painted in gouache, this fine art print inspired by Narcissus, one of the first flowers to bloom in spring. The Narcissus has appeared as a symbol in art for thousands of years, as far back as ancient Egypt, where the flowers were used as motifs to decorate tombs. These were the flowers that Persephone was picking when she was abducted by Hades and taken away to the Underworld. Narcissus is fabled to grow along the River Styx.
